_____________________ . EMPTY! That is the status of my brain now. It’s very hard to think of a business which is not a “manok2”. Wew! But I need to accept the fact that even though, at this time my mind is not working, I must respond to this because this is a requirement for my future. =) since our last meeting in our Technopreneurship subject, my mind was totally pressure on thinking new ideas for this because our instructor only gave us a score of 1.3 for our business proposal with 1 as the lowest. He said that what we proposed was very common. So I let myself focused myself thinking beyond the box but as I was sitting in front of the empty white page on the screen of my computer I have realize something. What’s that something? I have come to mind that, why would I search an egg in the yard if I know that there are plenty in the poultry. Why would I focus on things which I don’t like, if I have plenty of things that I like? So to start with, lets begin from the very basic..
A business is a lawfully recognized organization designed to provide goods or services, or both, to consumers, businesses and governmental entities. A business is typically formed to earn profit that will increase the wealth of its owners and grow the business itself. The owners and operators of a business have as one of their main objectives the receipt or generation of a financial return in exchange for work and acceptance of risk. The root of "business" relates to the state of being busy either as an individual or society as a whole, doing commercially viable and profitable work. The term "business" has at least three usages, depending on the scope — the singular usage (above) to mean a particular company or corporation, the generalized usage to refer to a particular market sector, such as "the music business" and compound forms such as agribusiness, or the broadest meaning to include all activity by the community of suppliers of goods and services. A business can be defined as an organization that provides goods and services to others who want or need them. When many people think of business careers, they often think of jobs in large wealthy corporations. Many business-related careers, however, exist in small businesses, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and educational settings. Furthermore, you don't need a degree in business to obtain many of these positions. In short, every sector of our economy needs people with strong overall skills that can be applied to business-type careers. There are a wide variety of career areas that exist in business settings.
Those who prosper are those who dream of something bigger. Being an employee is good but being the employer is better. In reality, there is a great difference between being just an employee and or being the boss. Owning your own business has lots of advantages. Although it may require big start of resources and funding, the effects are rewarding and the benefits could be long-term. People who settle to be employees end their lives inferior to their bosses and to their desires. If you the business you are working for, you have the chance to think big and explore your talents and skills. You don’t stay slumped waiting for what superiors would say.
You may feel hesitant about establishing your own small business because you know you don’t have a good grasp of business principles. This is easy. Read and inquire from successful business owners. There is business education anywhere you look. The online market actually requires not much money for starting capital. All you need is a website which is oftentimes initially free.
If you are your own boss, you can have the luxury of deciding for your time. You don’t have to wake up every morning even if you don’t feel right just because you need to get in the office in time. The luxury of time may not be a reason for you to be lax though. Good managers have self-discipline. They know there is time for everything.
Having your own business entails a lot but once it has prospered, the joy and contentment is a thousand fold. Once you have that enterprise that earns you for your needs, it will be easier for you to get into larger investments and prepare for your family’s future.
What is a start-up business? A business is considered a start-up if an entrepreneur begins a business based on a unique idea and takes it all the way from the planning stage to actually running the business. The business is usually thought of as still in the start-up stage until it begins to produce sufficient revenue or sales to cover the cost of supplies and operating costs.
Here are the advantages and disadvantages of a start-up business.
Advantages:
- Creativity can play a big part in starting and operating the business.
- There are no predetermined formulas or rules to follow; much less restrictive than a franchise or business opportunity purchase.
- The owner is in control of all aspects of the business, including the location and what the operation is to look like.
- The entrepreneur may draw from previous job experience, skills, and passion in establishing the business.
Disadvantages:
- Start-up businesses are typically more costly and risky since there is no proven formula.
- In order to obtain capital to fund the business, a lengthy detailed business plan must be put together.
- All of the details of starting the business, including licenses, marketing, naming the business, finding product sources, etc. are the responsibility of the owner
Before entering the business world with your new concept you should consider buying an existing business that has proven results and an established customer base. You should strongly consider searching for an already established business or an already established system.
There are many things to consider before jumping into the process, but needless to say, starting a business from scratch comes with many potential perks.
Being the Boss
In a traditional job, employees always have someone to answer to, whether the immediate supervisor directly works alongside the subordinates or not. Owning a business means there is no boss to contend with, and no boss to be compared to, since the business never existed with anyone else running it. This eliminates any possibility of a negative experience with a boss, such as personality conflicts or even a general disagreement on a business decision.
Choice of Employees
Starting a new business means everything begins with a clean slate. This means complete freedom to appoint staff as desired, with no risks of inheriting workers that do not seem to fit. It also means that the owner, upon personally selecting the most desirable employees, has the opportunity to train everyone in one streamlined way so that everyone is on the exact same page from day one.
Clean Reputation
A new business means new opportunities to build a strong reputation among clients, employees, and suppliers. The owner has the ability to do everything right from the beginning, and does not have to contend with anyone who might have been alienated previously in the case of an inherited business.
Location
When opening a new place of business, the owner is free to pick any location to set up shop. While owners that inherit a business could do the same, it would involve moving to an unfamiliar location, and possibly losing customers in the process. With no existing customers to focus on, the owner has the ability to pick any spot available.
Creation
Rather than having to put together a large sum of money to purchase an existing business, starting a new operation requires only an idea and the means of building from the ground up. While this will cost the prospective owner money as well, being a part of the creating process is not an option when taking over a previously existing business.
Starting a business sure is an exciting undertaking. But before you make the big move to starting your own second act, consider these things first:
1. Experience counts. First off, people who have already had a career -- whether it's at a corporation or even running their own business -- have a distinct advantage. They come with a ready-made set of skills and experiences to draw upon.
2. Fund the dream yourself. A big plus from a financial standpoint is that entrepreneurs who have had a corporate career can tap into savings, an early retirement package, or even a 401(k) account to start the businesses. Startup money and work experience are key to securing bank loans.
3. Oodles of patience. Experience and seed money are great, but they don't guarantee success.
4. New challenges. "You have to jump through many hoops to get your product to the consumer"
5. Network, network, network. You want to get clients, expand your business, and hire employees. How do you do that? Networking is more critical than ever when you own a small business.
6. Diversify. Even if it doesn't seem as if all your eggs are in one basket, think about diversity.
7. Build it and they might not come. Marketing is critical. "There are just so many choices out there"
8. Get innovative. Being or productive of something fresh and unusual.
What I have imagined to put up into business is very suitable for the people especially nowadays. Day by day, we search for something that would satisfy our hunger. My proposed business is an online selling of information. Selling information is one of the best ways, as well as most profitable, to make money online. Millions of people go online daily to search for information, which makes informational products probably one of the best sellers on the internet. The main biggest benefit of selling an informational product is that you can deliver them automatically over the internet at no cost. This will enable you to start a profitable online business at very little, to no cost out of your pocket. This is very appropriate for me, as a student because we are always tasked by our teachers to research on some things. And in our world today, libraries are somewhat forgotten because people find it very convenient to search what they need in the internet. I have considered many things before I end up with this kind of idea. I have realized that there are many ways on how I can make my proposed business progress.
• I can purchase resale rights to sell information products -
I can buy an information product that is ready to sell and this is one of the best ways to quickly start making money online. By purchasing resale rights to the product that is already established in the marketplace, I will benefit by having a well known product name attached to it to make the job of selling these products a lot easier. I would be able to profit online as the author of the product will most likely be known to the online audience.
• I can make my own information product -In order to have the best product to sell online, I need to focus to create quality content. It's important to note that I don't need to do this type of work myself. If I can afford it, I should consider hiring a freelancer to complete the writing job. I will only pay a one time fee to get my info product created, I will be able to retain all the rights as well as sell the product over and over in order to generate profit online. If I am on a tight budget, I should consider creating my own product. Once I create the product, I will be able to sell it many times to earn income online.
• I can sell my informational products in a digital format -I should stay away from offering my info products in a physical format as this will increase my costs and decrease my profit margins. This is the essence of why nothing else will create money than selling my informational product digitally and delivering it instantaneously. This could easily be done by redirecting my customers, after a payment has been made, to a download page on my website or I can email them my download link.
There are many benefits to creating and selling information online. One of the biggest benefits does not have to stock and restock anything. You make it once and sell it again and again so you're getting 100% profit. Because the internet is where people go to find information, it is the best selling thing online. If you want to sell directly to people but you don't have a product, you can buy resale rights to something and simply sell it yourself and keep all the profits. To sell anything yourself, you'll need either a merchant account or you'll need to find a third party processor. A third party processor is ideal for beginners, you only pay them a percentage of each sale you make, so you don't have to pay anything out of your own pocket. The downside to getting resale rights is if they are not expensive, then they may not be worth getting. You should get resale rights for a product that is worth the money, if the resale rights are cheap, it may not be worth selling, however, there are exceptions. Some may either not realize the value of resale rights or they do and just don't mind selling it for cheaper in order to get more sales. You don't have to have a product to make money on the internet. You can build a good online income by promoting other's products/services by having a referral link to their website on your site and earning commissions on sales you generate. With affiliate programs you can sell any type of product and not worry about stocking anything, delivering anything, or taking orders, this is a very nice advantage.
Who are my target clients?
Your target market is your ideal customer in the specific segment of the population you attempt to reach through your marketing efforts. Target markets are groups of people separated by distinguishable and noticeable aspects. Target markets can be separated into:
• Geographic segmentations (their location)
• Demographic /socio-economic segmentation (gender, age, income occupation, education, sexual orientation, household size, and stage in the family life cycle)
• Psychographic segmentation (similar attitudes, values, and lifestyles)
• Behavioral segmentation (occasions, degree of loyalty)
• Product-related segmentation (relationship to a product)
My target clients are those people who are fun of acquiring new informations daily and also students who are always dealing with the virtual world for their assignments, projects and personal purposes.
How to advertise?
Below are some ideas to help you communicate your business to the right customers through advertising.
Advertise to the right customers. You know, really, the people you are targeting are just like you and me. We live our daily lives being targeted by other companies and buying their products. So we are the right customers for them. But who are the right customers for you?.Everything you undertake is around your customers. Every product, and every investment. You need to understand who your customers are and where they go!.Think about when they are thinking about making a decision for your product. What time of year, where they physically are, who is influencing them and who is going to pay.Advertising does not need to be expensive. It is very cost effective IF you understand what we have described above.
The splatter-gun effect where you just target everyone and hope some of the messages stick is not going to work at all
There are many simple and cost-effective solutions you can use, and here are a few of them:
• member get member
- if you already have excited customers get them to recruit more for you - but offer them a gift or reward
• Internet advertising
- pay per click on the search engines is a great way to get customers to your website if it hasn't got good rankings - but you need to know what you are doing - My colleague Perry Marshall has written a 5-day email tutorial on Google AdWords and it covers some of the most important things you need to know. The Google Adwords course is free and I think you'll find it very helpful:
• your industry's promotion partners
- there are a lot of companies that are supporting your industry to promote how wonderful it is - for example, tourist boards. If you have a restaurant, hotel or B&B you must be in these guides.
• Local businesses and consumers
- one of the easiest and cheap methods of advertising is to your local community. You can either get the Post Office to put things through people's letterboxes or print a flyer and do it yourself. (Don't forget to put a call to action on this though)
The use of the Internet offers a variety of benefits to everyone who is willing to use it. The enormous amount of information available and the many uses one can have through the internet have made it the most valuable tool in various settings of a person’s life..The internet has created a whole new world of business opportunities. The internet gives us new opportunities and the chance for financial freedom. There is a new type of product that can help you establish a profitable home business-the info product.
